Timothée Chalamet recently made headlines for his unconventional arrival at the London premiere of the Bob Dylan biopic *A Complete Unknown*.
The Academy Award-nominated actor surprised fans when he rode a Lime electric bike to the event, turning heads on the red carpet.
His eco-friendly mode of transport quickly went viral on social media, but little did he know, his decision would come with consequences.
During an appearance on the French chat show *Quotidien*, Chalamet shared
that his e-bike adventure didn’t go as smoothly as he had hoped.
The actor, who was in London for the premiere, received a £65 fine (about $79) for improperly parking the bike outside BFI Southbank.
He explained that the reason he chose the bike over a more traditional chauffeured car was the heavy traffic at the time.
Chalamet, speaking in French, told the show’s host Yann Romain Barthès that he had no idea he was violating parking rules. “I got a £65 fine and actually, it was horrible because it was actually kind of an advert for them,” he said, referring to the Lime company. His ride, intended to be a sustainable and stylish entrance, inadvertently became a costly mishap.
But it wasn’t just Chalamet who faced the wrath of a fine. Professional photographer Aidan Zamiri, who joined the actor on his Lime bike ride, also got penalized. In a social media post, Zamiri shared a video of himself and Chalamet riding across Westminster Bridge, with the caption, “Favourite mode of transport.” However, the ride was abruptly ended by Lime after they noticed the bike had been idle for an unusually long time. Zamiri was hit with a £2 fine (roughly $2.40) for improper parking.
Despite the fines, Chalamet’s arrival at the premiere was still a memorable one. The actor, who plays Bob Dylan in the biopic, looked sharp in a black blazer and matching trousers, paired with a blue satin patterned shirt. His red-carpet moment was a highlight of the night, with the actor posing for photos ahead of the screening.
While Chalamet’s romantic partner, Kylie Jenner, was notably absent from the premiere, the couple was reunited shortly after in Paris. Following the London event, Chalamet attended the Paris premiere of *A Complete Unknown*, where he and Jenner were seen holding hands during a romantic dinner date at Cyril Lignac’s restaurant. This Parisian getaway came amid speculation about their relationship’s future, with insiders revealing that Jenner sees Chalamet as “the one.”
The couple’s relationship has been steadily growing since the beginning of 2023, with public appearances becoming more frequent. One of their most recent outings was at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, where Jenner stunned in a backless silver gown. Though she was absent from Chalamet’s earlier film premieres, the pair made up for it with a PDA-filled evening at the Globes, cementing their status as Hollywood’s latest power couple.
In addition to his acting career, Chalamet has also been focused on his environmental impact, and his choice of transportation to the premiere reflected that. Still, the parking fines were an unexpected result of his good intentions. Nevertheless, Chalamet’s approach to both his career and his personal life seems to be going full speed ahead, as he continues to make waves in Hollywood while navigating his budding romance with Jenner.
While the bike incident may have been a minor setback, it certainly didn’t overshadow the excitement surrounding Chalamet’s role in *A Complete Unknown*. As the film heads for a UK release on January 17, audiences are eagerly awaiting his portrayal of the legendary folk singer Bob Dylan, further solidifying Chalamet’s status as one of Hollywood’s most promising talents.
