Holly Willoughby shocks viewers by departing from her ITV position ahead of season two – How did Netflix secure her services?

Holly Willoughby has reportedly stepped away from ITV’s game show You Bet! ahead of its next season,

as she continues to attract attention from global streaming platforms.

The beloved presenter, who has been a key figure on British television for over a decade, has gradually reduced her ITV commitments in recent years.

After departing This Morning following a frightening stalking incident, Holly made a gradual return to TV, co-hosting Dancing On Ice and You Bet! alongside Stephen Mulhern.

However, it now appears that she is moving on once again.

Holly Willoughby Declines ITV’s Offer to Return to You Bet!

ITV had hoped Holly would remain a central figure on their Saturday night programming, offering her a major deal to continue hosting You Bet!. However, reports suggest she turned down the offer, citing other professional commitments.

An ITV spokesperson confirmed the news, stating:

“Unfortunately, Holly couldn’t commit to the dates to host the new series of You Bet!, but will hopefully appear as a guest panellist on one of the shows in the new series.”

Holly and Stephen Mulhern successfully brought You Bet! back to life in a two-part special last year, with both presenters expected to return for a full season. ITV bosses were eager to build on the show’s success, but Holly has opted not to continue as host.

Holly’s Growing Success on a Global Stage

Although it remains unclear exactly what Holly’s new commitments involve, sources suggest that her recent success with Netflix’s Celebrity Bear Hunt has significantly boosted her international profile. Reports indicate that executives at the streaming giant are eager to collaborate with her on further projects, which could explain her decision to step away from You Bet!.

An industry insider revealed:

“Holly and Stephen were a fantastic team, and viewers loved them together. ITV was keen to bring them back, but Holly has so many opportunities now. She’s in high demand and had to make a tough decision.”

While Stephen Mulhern is expected to continue as host of You Bet!, it remains unclear who will step into Holly’s place.

Is Holly Also Leaving Dancing On Ice?

Holly’s departure from You Bet! has fueled speculation that she might also be stepping away from Dancing On Ice, a show she has co-hosted for several years. With rumours circulating about the show potentially being axed, some fans believe she may be freeing up her schedule for new ventures.

The most recent Dancing On Ice final, which aired on March 9, sparked mixed reactions from viewers. Reports have suggested that ITV may be considering ending the show altogether, though no official decision has been made.

An ITV representative addressed the speculation, stating:

“The Dancing On Ice team has been fully concentrating on the much-anticipated series finale, and therefore, no decision has been made regarding the future of the show.”

Torvill and Dean’s Farewell Performance

Adding to the uncertainty surrounding Dancing On Ice, legendary skating duo Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean delivered what they called their last televised skating performance during the season finale. Fans feared this signaled the end of the show altogether, but ITV clarified that the pair were not retiring from skating—only stepping back from televised performances.

“They confirmed that their performance on the finale of Dancing On Ice last night was their last televised performance skating on ice. Not that they were retiring,” an ITV spokesperson explained.

What’s Next for Holly Willoughby?

Holly’s decision to leave You Bet! marks another significant shift in her career. With global platforms taking an interest in her, she appears to be focusing on expanding her work beyond traditional British television.

Although ITV fans will undoubtedly miss her on You Bet!, they may not have seen the last of her on Dancing On Ice—at least, not yet. For now, all eyes are on her next big move, as she continues to carve out new opportunities in the entertainment industry.
