Since stepping away from the “Today Show” earlier this year, Hoda Kotb has been making the most of her newfound free time,
dedicating it to the two people who matter most—her daughters, Haley, 8, and Hope, 5.
The longtime television personality, who announced her departure in September,
had expressed her desire to be more present in their lives, and she has wasted no time doing just that.
Kotb recently treated her girls to an exciting getaway at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida,
capturing their special moments together and sharing them with her fans on Instagram.
The doting mother posted a series of heartwarming pictures from their trip, showcasing the fun-filled adventure she embarked on with her daughters.
In one of the snapshots, Kotb and her girls posed in front of the famous Universal Studios globe, all smiles as they soaked in the theme park’s atmosphere. Another photo showed Haley and Hope with their faces painted, embracing the magic of the experience. The three also enjoyed various rides, further cementing memories that will undoubtedly last a lifetime.
“What a fun day @universalorlando!! Special thanks to Mary—the very best tour guide at the park,” Kotb captioned her post, adding a string of heart emojis to express her joy.
Fans were thrilled to see Kotb enjoying her time away from the demanding world of morning television, filling the comment section with messages of support and admiration. One fan wrote, “It’s so wonderful seeing you enjoy these moments!!” while another added, “Miss you, Hoda, but happy to know you’re ‘living life.’ Enjoy every moment!” Many echoed the sentiment, noting how much they missed her presence on “Today” but were happy to see her embracing this new chapter.
Kotb’s decision to leave “Today” was not an easy one. When she first made the announcement, she spoke candidly about how turning 60 led to a period of deep reflection. She realized she wanted to prioritize personal fulfillment and family over her high-profile career.
“It was such a monumental moment for me when I turned 60 years old because I started thinking about that decade—what does it hold, what’s it going to have for me?” she shared at the time. “I realized that it was time for me to turn the page at 60 and to try something new.”
Though stepping away from “Today” was a major change, Kotb made it clear that she wasn’t retiring. Instead, she is channeling her energy into a new business venture focused on wellness, an area she has been passionate about for years. While details of the project remain under wraps, it’s evident that she is taking this opportunity to redefine her path while still staying connected to her audience in meaningful ways.
In the meantime, Kotb continues to relish the simple joys of motherhood. Since leaving her television role, she has spoken about how much she enjoys being able to take her daughters to school in the morning—something she was rarely able to do before. Now, with adventures like their recent Universal Studios trip, she is fully embracing the hands-on parenting experience she longed for.
Kotb’s departure from “Today” has undoubtedly left a void for many longtime viewers, but her choice to prioritize her family and personal well-being has been met with widespread admiration. As she continues to explore new opportunities and spend quality time with Haley and Hope, fans can expect to see her thriving in ways that go beyond the television screen.
