Angelina Jolie has recently provided insight into her daughter Shiloh’s aversion to the celebrity lifestyle. 

During a panel at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Jolie shared that Shiloh, now 18, “really doesn’t like any of the celebrity part of it, especially Shiloh hates it.” 

She elaborated, “It’s not a normal thing. It’s a silly thing, really.” 

Jolie emphasized that this perspective is entirely Shiloh’s own, stating, “That’s not my doing.” 

She had hoped her children would be involved in the creative aspects of filmmaking, describing it as “such a wonderful family, to be creative, to be an artist.” 

However, she acknowledged, “They’re not interested.” Instead, her children have pursued various artistic endeavors behind the scenes. 

“Some of them dance, some of them paint, some of them love theater, but none of them are dying to be on screen,” Jolie noted. 

Shiloh, in particular, has demonstrated a passion for dance. She has been seen participating in advanced choreography sessions at the Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles, showcasing her talent in styles such as street dance and funk. Despite her skills, Shiloh remains committed to maintaining her privacy and has not pursued public recognition for her dancing. 

Jolie’s other children have also engaged in creative pursuits away from the limelight. Her sons, Maddox and Pax, have worked as assistant directors on her film projects, gaining experience behind the camera. Additionally, her daughter Vivienne has collaborated with Jolie on a Broadway production, contributing to the creative process without seeking public attention. 

Jolie respects and supports her children’s choices to lead private lives, understanding their desire to avoid the pressures associated with fame. She acknowledges that, despite their upbringing in the public eye, her children have consciously chosen paths that allow them to express their creativity without the accompanying celebrity status.
