TV chefs Gordon Ramsay and Gino D’Acampo were once the best of friends, delighting audiences with their playful banter on Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip. 

However, cracks in their friendship began to surface years ago, 

and recent allegations of inappropriate behavior against Gino—claims he strongly denies—have reportedly driven a permanent wedge between the former co-stars.

Tension Over Their Children’s Romance

One of the earliest signs of strain between the two came in 2019 when it was revealed that Gordon’s daughter, Tilly Ramsay, was dating Gino’s son, Luciano. 

The teenagers, both 17 at the time, had met on the set of their fathers’ ITV food show, and their budding romance quickly made headlines.

While Gino appeared to support the relationship, Gordon was far less enthusiastic. 

His discomfort became evident when he accidentally discovered the young couple on a date during a FaceTime call while filming Gordon, Gino and Fred: American Road Trip.

Luciano revealed he was dining at Gordon’s Heddon Street Kitchen restaurant and then panned the camera to show Tilly sitting across from him. Taken aback, Gordon questioned, “Tilly, what are you doing, Matilda?” before Luciano clarified, “We’re on a date, we’ve gone for dinner.”

Gordon, clearly caught off guard, replied, “Tilly, you didn’t tell me you were going to dinner with Luciano.” His daughter cheekily responded, “Oh, sorry, I must have forgotten!” Their co-host, Fred Sirieix, then jokingly added, “Remember, guys, it’s okay to kiss on the first date!”

The Hell’s Kitchen star later addressed the situation on The Jonathan Ross Show, calling the romance a “f**king nightmare.” He downplayed their relationship by insisting they were “just friends,” though host Jonathan Ross teasingly suggested otherwise.

Meanwhile, Gino seemed to revel in Gordon’s discomfort, telling This Morning, “Tilly is beautiful. They’ve known each other for a few years now. I don’t want to say much because it’s none of my business, but it’s a pleasure knowing my son is dating Gordon’s daughter—just to annoy him!”

Ultimately, the romance between Tilly and Luciano was short-lived, and she later moved on with university student Henry Farrow.

Gino’s Departure From Their Hit Show

Despite their personal tensions, Gordon and Gino continued to work together for several years, traveling across Europe with Fred Sirieix for Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip. However, in 2023, Gino announced his decision to leave the show, citing contract disputes.

At the time, he insisted that his exit had nothing to do with his relationships with Gordon or Fred, emphasizing that he valued their friendships too much to let business interfere.

But Gordon later hinted at frustrations with his co-stars on Spencer Matthews’ Big Fish podcast, joking that Gino and Fred were difficult to work with. “An hour in, Gino wants an espresso or his eyebrows plucked, and ninety minutes in, Fred’s missing his croissant and his eyeliner,” he quipped. “But we do get on, though… after a few days, it’s like, ‘Move over, I want more room in the bed,’ or, ‘Can we have a break? They don’t work hard.’”

Allegations Against Gino and Gordon’s Silence

Recently, reports surfaced that Gino is facing multiple allegations of inappropriate behavior over the past 12 years. ITV News has reportedly spoken to more than 40 individuals who have either experienced or witnessed the alleged misconduct.

Gino has firmly denied the accusations, calling them “deeply upsetting.” However, as the scandal unfolds, Gordon has remained silent, choosing not to publicly defend his former co-star.

According to a Mail Online report, it was actually Gordon who first raised concerns about Gino’s conduct two years ago. A source claimed that the Scottish chef had observed behavior he deemed unacceptable and decided to speak up. “Gordon found there was a lot of unacceptable behavior going on. He saw things he didn’t think were okay, so he spoke up. That was that—friendship over.”

The End of a Friendship?

As Gino continues to fight the allegations, it appears that his once-close friendship with Gordon has completely dissolved. While they were once inseparable on-screen, it now seems unlikely that the pair will reunite for any future projects.

With Gordon reportedly “horrified” by the accusations and distancing himself from Gino, their relationship appears to be beyond repair. What was once an entertaining, dynamic friendship has now turned into one of the most high-profile celebrity fallouts in recent years.
