Viewers of The Chase were left buzzing after the latest episode, with many claiming one contestant was “furious” 

after single-handedly leading his team in the Final Chase—only to miss out on a major cash prize.

Monday’s episode saw four new hopefuls take on one of the most formidable Chasers, Anne Hegerty, also known as The Governess.

“I feel I should apologise. I really did not actually expect to catch that. That was an excellent target,” she said.

She then directed her praise towards Ed in particular, adding: “You did play brilliantly, especially Ed.”

While the team may have left empty-handed, Ed certainly earned the respect of viewers and even the Chaser herself.
