Katie Price, a mum-of-five, recently opened up about the emotional struggles she faces as her eldest son, Harvey Price, now 22, lives away from home.
The 46-year-old media personality shared her heartfelt feelings in a special episode of *The Katie Price Show* on her YouTube channel, filmed during the festive season.
During the vlog, which featured a touching FaceTime conversation, Katie revealed just how much she misses her son,
who faces numerous challenges, including partial blindness, autism, and Prader-Willi syndrome.
Harvey, who lives apart from Katie, expressed his longing for his mother during a FaceTime chat,
telling her stepfather, Paul Price, “Harvey wants to tell us that he misses us and wants cuddles.”
In response, Katie reassured Harvey, with Paul by her side, that they would be visiting him soon to set up his Christmas tree and promised a special surprise involving Barney the Dinosaur. The scene was a moving moment, highlighting the deep bond between mother and son.
In a candid moment, Katie spoke directly to the camera, expressing how distressing it is to see Harvey in emotional pain. Unlike other young adults his age, who are more independent, Harvey still relies heavily on his mother, making her his entire world. Katie admitted, “I hate it because he is at college. I only saw him two days ago, and he apparently cried when I left. But what can I do?” Despite the heartache, she reassured fans that she plans to visit him next week and regularly keeps in touch via FaceTime. Katie explained, “That’s why we FaceTime every single day. It’s important he has his iPad, but we’re going down next week to do his Christmas tree. He wants Nanny and Grandad there.”
Katie’s emotional confession continued as she shared the ups and downs of raising Harvey. While she expressed the pain of being apart from him, she also acknowledged the challenges that come with having Harvey home. “It’s not nice, but it makes it worthwhile when he comes home and I see him,” she said. “That’s the thing; he’s 21. Normally, a 21-year-old would be off doing things, and I’m just his life. All he wants to do is see me. It is sad, and I love it when he’s home, but it’s also full-on when he’s home. He breaks things, smashes things, and it’s such a busy time for me at the moment. I need to get Christmas presents and all that. So yeah, it is what it is. I love my Harvey bear.”
Katie’s openness about the emotional complexities of motherhood and family life extended beyond her relationship with Harvey. In the same vlog, she spoke about her relationship with her biological father. While Katie only sees him occasionally, she clarified that there is no animosity between them. “I have got my real dad, who I call ‘dad,’ but I only see him not that often because of life… There’s no problem. We all meet and we all have a laugh, but this is Price. This is where I get my surname from. Price is from Paul Price,” Katie explained, referring to her stepfather, whom she affectionately calls “dad.”
However, Katie’s personal and family life has not been free from scrutiny. On Monday, she once again made headlines following a remote court hearing about her ongoing bankruptcy proceedings. The court revealed that Katie owes over £750,000 in taxes, including income tax, VAT, surcharges, and interest from the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 tax years. Katie, who faced bankruptcy for the second time in March, has faced financial troubles due to her failure to engage with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) regarding the debt.
As a result of her financial struggles, Katie has been forced to downsize. She sold her infamous ‘Mucky Mansion’ in Sussex and moved into a more modest £1.2 million home, which is described as a “large detached family home with a south-facing plot backing onto countryside on the town’s eastern edge with views of the South Downs.” Despite these personal challenges, Katie’s love for her family remains unwavering, and she continues to share her journey with her followers, offering a candid look at both the joys and difficulties of life.
